Akhanda Yoga
Akhanda Yoga is an integrated system of yoga conveying the diverse aspects of the yoga tradition, harmonizing breath and movement in a balanced sequencing of asana (posture), pranayama (breath work), relaxation, mantra, and meditation. Principles of yogic philosophy and life style are woven through the classes, connecting students to a larger view of the unbroken lineage of yoga. These classes are inspired by the philosophy and teaching of Yogi Vishvketu and the World Conscious Yoga Family.
Hatha Yoga
Hatha Yoga is the physical practice of yoga. These classes guide you through movement that develops strength, flexibility, and develop the connection between, body, mind & breath. Deepen your understanding of the postures & basic alignment in the body, breathing, and relaxation techniques.
These classes are designed for mixed-level participants - All Levels Welcome
Hatha Flow
Our Hatha Flow class (sometimes just called “flow class”) is characterized by the constant movement and feeling of flow that comes from devotion to guiding the breath. These classes are dynamic and varied. In these classes there is no set sequence of exercises and the character of the class with its specific challenges depends very much on the style and focus of the teacher who is teaching.
Prana Flow Yoga
Prana Flow Yoga is a highly energizing, rhythmic and very creative form of Vinyasa Flow Yoga. In a safe way, the body and mind are prepared for more advanced postures through the intelligent placement (“vinyasa”) of various “kramas” (difficulty levels of certain postures) in harmony with the breath. In short: “Embrace the flow of life (“the state of unified consciousness”) and allow the life force (“prana”) to guide you!” Each Prana Flow class is different in its energy and physical challenges - some are more "fiery" (ie generate more heat and sweat and thus opportunities for transformation), while others are more "lunar" (ie gentler and more introspective).
YIN
Our YIN classes are suitable for both beginners and advanced learners. The focus is on stretching the connective tissue and deep layers of the body (tendons, ligaments, bones). By staying in the positions, the mind can also come to rest and we direct our attention inwards.
Yin Yoga is an excellent complement to all styles of yoga, and all physical activities or sports. People with tight hip flexors, hamstrings and who have lower back aches will benefit greatly from yin yoga because it will bring space and openness to these tight areas.
Ashtanga
Ashtanga Yoga is a dynamic yoga practice based on vinyāsa which synchronizes breath with movement and visual focal points. Overtime when the yoga positions are preformed combined with proper breathing techniques, sensory management and self-awareness are developed and enhanced. The practice not only promotes physical strength, but also a deeper understanding of bodily control and mental discipline. The ideals learned during practice are meant to be applied to everyday life, bringing about a more stable mind and body. This gives students a foundation for a healthy lifestyle.
Yoga Nidra
Join us for a deeply harmonious practice that embodies an array of asanas to awaken and center the body and mind followed by a guided meditation called Yoga Nidra. Yoga Nidra induces complete physical, mental, and emotional relaxation. Within this peaceful state, the mind remains awake to explore different states of consciousness, while stimulating rejuvenation, increasing inner strength, shifting limited thinking patterns, awakening creativity, and counteracting stress.
Students of all experience levels are welcome.
